Are you a challenger ?
Coming soon on Twusic !
…meanwhile, at the Lab…
You might not know this but to create, maintain, and develop a website, you need:
- developers
- graphic designers
- food (of which ingestion doesn’t necessarily require leaving your desk more than 7 minutes)
and coffee …
… a lot of coffee …
… seriously, really a lot !
So the firsts investments made in the name of our young company were, in all pure and simple logic, a coffee machine, a grilled-cheese sandwich maker and a few pounds of that brown gold commonly known as “coffee”.
Unfortunately, after a few months (2 to be precise), countless coffee mugs poured (a few thousands as it appeared after thorough investigation) and the fierce mechanism hardly getting any breaks at all, in the middle of a decisive and intense brainstorm on MarioKart on Wii, the unthinkable happened : the Senseo passed away.
The fact might sound anecdotic in itself but just imagine a brand new company, in its firsts steps, cut off from its essential power source !
There ! Our grand scheme trampled upon, our team in “full panic” mode !
So, after having bravely faced a gas leak in our street that lead to the evacuation of the building and its surroundings, the street work from 9am to 4pm where drills seemed to be engineered based on a conga tempo, the accordionists whom, from 1 to 10pm played the same enervating dumb tune, we thought we were done…
The solution, temporary but effective was clear: back to basics : the percolator, ground coffee and good old paper filters.
Yes, that good old pot so dear to our grandmothers…
After all that turmoil, the team safe and sound, the coffee and its never ending flow, we could at last return to the Lab and resume the development of our activities…
Thanks to @PtitBen for his support on Twitter, #PhillipsFrance who offered the replacement of the machine at their expense and to the Lab team who managed to keep its cool throughout the storm !

The Big, Short story !
Twusic is a story… and we want to share it with you!
First of all, as a side note but just to be clear, Twusic is NOT affiliated with Twitter Inc.
Twusic is a bootstrapped product, made-in-Belgium, with love, by @alexlec and @amaury for LemonLab.
In fact, Twusic was born in 2010 when Twitter slowly started reaching a new audience made of musicians and music enthusiasts after the geeks and the other early adopters had had their go. At the time, the hashtag #nowplaying wasn’t really used by many users but mostly by passionate ones with an urge to scratch share the surface of their playlist(s)…
So, early on that year, we began brainstorming on how to easily access, listen, track, compile all that music shared and, in Jan 2011, Twusic Alpha, the first Twitter Application dedicated to music aggregation, was born!

And as you can see, since then, our Alpha version has evolved a lot! …but that’s another story… ;)
To be continued …
Twitter + Music = Twusic !
Twusic is the new simplest way for users to listen to and share with their social network their favorite music just by tweeting the song and the artist’s name !
Twusic goes even farther than just being a Twitter/YouTube mashup : it implements a real song profile for each track shared on Twitter !
By using a dedicated engine, Twusic is able to find information about the artist, it’s tour dates and even who’s playing it on Twitter !

At Twusic, we’d like to thank the guys @betalist for our first press release !
